Alexandros Papapetropoulos
Director of Product @ KIA Europe
Born in Athens, Alexandros Papapetropoulos holds an engineering degree from the University of Patras and a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from HEC Paris.
He began his automotive career in 2005 at Toyota Motor Europe, based in Brussels. As a product analyst and then product planner within the Corporate Product Strategy dept., he worked on a wide range of multidisciplinary projects including the development of Lexus’ first compact hybrid vehicle.
In 2010 he joined Nissan Europe, where he held various roles within the Sales & Marketing division, in France and Switzerland. He was, inter alia, part of the team that launched the Alliance’s luxury brand -INFINITI- in Europe, and was appointed Head of Product Strategy for Europe, Middle East and Russia in 2018.
In 2019 he moved to Frankfurt and joined Kia Europe, as General Manager for Product Planning & Future Trends, in charge of the upstream phase of product development. In January 2022, he was promoted to Director of Product for Europe. In his new assignment he is in charge of leading the upstream and downstream phases of product development & product management, including Product Planning & Future Trends, Product Marketing, Pricing, and Cross Carline technologies.
Since 2020, he is also a non-executive Board Member of the Road Safety Institute (RSI) “Panos Mylonas”, a research and educational institute focusing on improving road safety in Greece.
