Athanasios Polychronopoulos

Founder and CEO @ Polygreen, Founder @ Polyeco Contemporary Art Initiative (PCAI)

Ath. Polychronopoulos is an environmentalist with more than 20 years experience in leading environmental initiatives worldwide.  He created and managed the International development of Polyeco SA  in the fields of waste management and oil spill response  for many years. In 2021 he founded Polygreen, in order to bring together the international footprint of Polyeco with circular economy solutions worldwide.

As an avid supporter of the Arts, in 2014, Mr. Polychronopoulos founded Polyeco Contemporary Art Initiative (PCAI), a non-profit organization which aims to raise environmental awareness through art. In 2018 PCAI became member of IACCCA.

Since 2015, Mr. Polychronopoulos is a Member of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV) Business Council for Sustainable Development, while in 2021 he was elected in the Board of Directors of the UN Global Compact Network Hellas. In the past he was a member of the BoD of Polyeco S.A. and Environmental Protection Engineering S.A. Mr. Polychronopoulos studied Business Administration at the University of Piraeus and has since participated in a number of Business administration and Management seminars at the Universities of Stanford and Harvard.
