George Metsis

George Metsis is currently Head of Finance of Japan Tobacco International (JTI) Canada, based in Toronto. George held various Finance positions of increasing responsibility with JTI in Greece and Cyprus, Switzerland, Hungary, and Poland before taking on General Management responsibilities for JTI’s business in Denmark.

Prior to his current role and until the beginning of the Russia-Ukraine war in February 2022, he was the Head of Finance and Logistics of JTI Russia, which at the time was the largest subsidiary of JTI globally and a leading international investor in Russia with USD 5 billion direct investment and 4,500 employees.

George has attended executive development programs in strategy and leadership with INSEAD in France and Singapore, IMD, Switzerland and IESE, Spain. He holds a Master of Finance with distinction from the University of Exeter and a Bachelor of Business from the University of Hertfordshire.
