Kyriakos Gialoglou

Kyriakos Gialoglou has over 20 years’ working experience with focus on energy, environment and EU affairs having held posts both in the private and public sector. Currently he is Director
of European Government Affairs and Managing Director, Greece for Seawind Ocean Technology, a Dutch manufacturer of floating wind turbines.
Kyriakos is also Expert to the European Economic and Social Committee, having recently completed an Opinion on Sustainable Development in the Western Balkans, and Special Adviser to the UNESCO Chair on Conservation at the International Hellenic University. Previously, Kyriakos was EU Affairs Director in charge of strategy and advocacy at Eurogas, the business association representing the European natural gas industry. Before Eurogas, Kyriakos worked in the European Commission as Team Leader responsible for policy development in the area of energy and consumers where he produced the main bulk of EU retail electricity and gas EU legislation. Prior to joining the European Civil Service, Kyriakos was Adviser to the Board at the Council of European Energy Regulators (CEER), the Eur. Commission’s expert committee on electricity and gas regulation composed of the EU27 national energy regulatory authorities.
Kyriakos started his career at the renowned Brussels think tank the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS) as Research Fellow in charge of Energy Policy and Sustainability. Kyriakos holds an MA in International Political Economy from the University of Warwick and is fluent in English, German, Spanish and French. His mother tongue is Greek. He loves travelling and swimming, preferably in the Aegean Sea.
