Michalis is an EU public policy and regulatory affairs expert with over 12 years of experience in financial markets. Michalis is currently the EMEA Executive Director for the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) and head of its Brussels office. In this role, he deals on a regular basis with a variety of stakeholders, including elected officials and diplomats, MEPs and European Commission officers as well as market regulators and central banks. He has extensive knowledge of and experience with financial regulation, financial innovation and technology, international affairs and EU policy analysis. Prior to this, he has worked for a large policy consultancy in Brussels as well as for the European Commission.
A political economist by training, Michalis is focusing on the intersection of governance, regulation and policymaking.
He resides in Brussels and is a Greek and Belgian citizen.
